About Kathleen Willcox Williams
SKILLED ADVOCACY. PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS.
Attorney Kathleen Willcox Williams is an experienced criminal defense lawyer serving Coastal Georgia, with a practice centered on protecting rights and defending futures for both adults and young people. She has tried numerous jury trials, represented clients on appeal, and successfully resolved thousands of matters on behalf of clients throughout Glynn, Camden, McIntosh, Brantley, and Wayne Counties.
Her work spans the full spectrum of criminal defense, "from speeding to murder" as she sometimes says. She frequently assists families facing juvenile charges and school tribunal hearings, providing guidance that balances immediate legal needs with long-term future considerations. In addition to her defense practice, Ms. Williams also guides families through the adoption process, one of the most rewarding parts of her work in court. Her general practice experience — including civil litigation and probate matters — allows her to provide clients with steady counsel across a wide range of legal needs.
Prior to moving into her private practice, Ms. Williams clerked as staff attorney to judges in the South Georgia and Flint Judicial Circuits, served as a public defender in the Metro Atlanta area, and practiced in private firms handling criminal, family, real estate, business counsel, and appellate matters. She is admitted to practice before the trial courts in Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Georgia. She is also licensed in Florida and is an active member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Criminal Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and multiple professional associations.
A native of McDonough, Georgia, Ms. Williams earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia, where she also competed on the UGA Equestrian Team and studied abroad in Morocco. She received her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, completing additional study in international law in Brussels, Belgium.
Today, Ms. Williams is recognized for her client-centered approach — offering clear guidance, steady advocacy, and strategic defense. Whether defending an adult facing felony charges, helping parents protect a teenager’s record and future opportunities, or guiding families as they finalize an adoption, she is committed to ensuring that every client’s future is defined by more than a single moment.
